This was a site we had not intended to visit, the reviews were less than impressive and (according to those reviews) it was directly under the Rotterdam airport take -off flight path. We had picked out what seemed a super site, unfortunately I phoned the wrong number (it’s an age thing - Editor).
The first thing to report is that, while it is true, the stite is under the take-off route of Rotterdam airport with just a few planes leaving each day it is not the same as being in a similar position outside Stansted or Heathrow and should be discounted as a reason not to visit Recreatiepark De Koornmolen. The most planes we noticed in any one day was three, although it must be said we were not there all day.
The site is an all singing (at times very loudly) all dancing site with lots of laid on activity for youngsters and adults alike.
The facilities were basic but clean and despite the high daily fees no loo roll, soap or hand towels were provided. Cars are allowed on site only to deliver and remove your caravan and at all other times are required to be kept off site - not unreasonable given the number of youngsters running around.
This site was far better than expected and although expensive we would return if we needed a site in this area.
